Dr Olga Thomas and Joanna Forest win Future Classic Women Award

Women’s Radio Station has announced that classical composer, Dr Olga Thomas and Classical Soprano, Joanna Forest have won a Future Classic Women Award in the Crossover category for their single release ‘His Noble Crown’ which was released to mark the Coronation of King Charles III.

World-renowned Classical Composer Olga Thomas is known for composing powerful private musical gifts for the Royal Family, which mark important moments in the lives of the Royal Household: from marriages to births, to anniversaries and deaths, including the sad passing of Her Majesty the Queen. Olga’s most recent release was written in celebration of His Majesty King Charles III’s Coronation. All proceeds from Olga’s royal compositions go to charity: proceeds are split between Cruse Bereavement Support, and the Royal Navy & Royal Marines Charity, both of which are heavily supported by The Royal Family.

‘His Noble Crown’ features beautiful vocals from soprano Joanna Forest. The single was released on 4th May 2023, and reached Number 4 in the Official Charts under the Top Chart and Classical lists.

Future Classic Women Award: Crossover

Women’s Radio Station created “Future Classic Women Awards” where they search for the most amazing new female musicians on the Classical panorama. Through a mix of interviews and performances they discover the insight of Classical music and what does it means to be a Classic Woman today, including the funniest and darkest moment (e.g. the “Me too” movement, Cancer, Motherhood, Divorce, Politics) to which any other woman’s career can relate.

The audience will decide their favourite artists through airplay and twitter/FB/Instagram/Linkedin shares and comments. “Future Classic Women’s Awards” is a unique journey of discovery, empowerment and relief through Music. It is also an opportunity to break the barriers between Classical and Pop music, to be inspired by stories of resilience and courage, and be amused by the funniest moments in a professional musician’s career.

This year, Olga Thomas and Joanna Forest were voted as the winners in the Crossover category.
