An award-winning, world-renowned and chart-topping classical composer, known for composing musical gifts for the Royal Household. Olga Thomas-Bosovskaya was born in Moscow into a family of musicians and inventors. She attended the famous Gnesin School for Gifted Children, gave her first public concert at the age of eight, and gained her PhD in Music and Dramatic Art at the renowned Tchaikovsky Conservatoire, where she studied under the mentorship of Edison Denisov. Composer, concert pianist, author and academic, she has made London her home for more than thirty years; her recordings are released on Arcava Music, her own independent label — some also released on Chevron Recordings, the official label of the Royal Marines Band Service — and her large-scale orchestral sessions are made at London's Angel Studios with the Arts Symphonic Orchestra under producer and conductor Robert Emery.
Olga spent eighteen years as composer at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art — an eighteen-year creative partnership with the Academy's Principal, Nicholas Barter, whose final-year productions she scored — while composing beyond the Academy for the BBC and for the theatre, including work with Théâtre de Complicité, on productions from Hedda Gabler and Cousin Bette to Lady Audley's Secret, The Country Girl and The Glass Menagerie, and working with such actors and directors as the late Susannah York, the late Corin Redgrave, Sarah Miles, Nicholas Le Prevost, Peter Kavanagh, Francesca Annis, Juliet Stevenson and Bill Nighy — with further composing engagements at Italia Conti and TheatreTrain. Her concert and commissioned works include The Douglas Suite, written for the Douglas dynasty of Hollywood, Images for Drawings by Peter Falk, The Furniture Suite, commissioned by John Bly of the BBC’s Antiques Roadshow, and the "Regent’s University London Theme". Among her many BBC productions is The Cherry Orchard, directed by Peter Kavanagh — while a separate staging of The Cherry Orchard for the celebrated producer Bill Kenwright first brought her together with Susannah York, the beginning of a unique collaboration and a deep friendship.
Olga is known for composing musical gifts marking the great occasions of the Royal Family — from Themes of Life and Glory, her tribute to Her Majesty The Queen Mother, and Celebration for the wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, and the anthem Jubilation for the Diamond Jubilee (recorded by the Band of HM Royal Marines Portsmouth), to Royal Platinum Love Song for Her late Majesty's Platinum Wedding Anniversary, Royal Hollywood Love Song for the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, The Four British Nations for the Platinum Jubilee, Her Platinum Crown in Her Majesty's memory, and His Noble Crown for the Coronation of King Charles III — as well as three Royal Lullabies welcoming newborn royal babies to the world, the first composed for the birth of Prince George, and two affectionate marches, Thank You Very March and Thank You Very March II, written in gratitude to the Royal Marines for their service and recorded by them. She was privileged to present a CD of her compositions to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II at St James's Palace, and was introduced live on Sky News from Buckingham Palace during the Platinum Jubilee as "Royal Composer."
Olga is Resident Composer for Cruse Bereavement Support, for whom she wrote the anthem Restoring Hope; the proceeds of her royal releases are donated to charity. As founder and Chairman of Arcava (registered charity no. 1080350), she has spent over three decades bringing performances of the highest calibre to those who need them most — bedside concerts in cancer wards, musical evenings for patients and their families — raising funds for eleven causes including Cruse, the Royal Navy & Royal Marines Charity, and Guy's, King's & St Thomas' Cancer Institute.
In summer 2025, Olga published her first novel, Déjà Vu Revisited — a witty, psychologically charged mystery — which reached Amazon's Hot New Releases Top 50 in two categories without promotion, and is now in pre-production as an eight-episode television series, created, written and composed by Olga, with Virtuoso TV attached as distributor.
